This movie is the second installment in a series of movies which began with the 1986 film "The Decline of the American Empire" and is followed by the 2007 film "Days of Darkness". This film deals with the final days of a father, Rémy (Rémy Girard), who is facing the perils that come with a diagnosis of terminal cancer. Remy's illness sets off a significant series of family reunions, which begins with the return of Remy's estranged wife Louise (Dorothée Berryman). Also returning to Montreal to see his father is Remy's estranged son Sébastien (Stéphane Rousseau) who flies from London to see his father for the first time in many years. Despite their previous bad relationship, Sébastien helps his father improve his situation, getting his father a private hospital room and a drug dealer Nathalie (Marie-Josée Croze) to produce heroin for his father.
